Back in 2008, I entered a contest called “Project Icon”. I was using WordPress for personal and client websites for a while, and had just started building the local Buffalo WordPress Users Group.
I ended up winning, and my icons became part of the WP admin for the next major version, up to version 3.8 (when I designed a completely new set, based on vectors instead of pixels, but that’s another story.)
It was a great start to years of contribution to the wonderful world of WP. I don’t do much contribution these days, but I hope to renew my participation in the future, when my time will hopefully open up a bit.
